halfway there (bookings!)
more bookings and routes changes - managed to book Bridges Yha, then found an alternative to Chester near Warrington for Happy Guests!! This should've made the next day shorter BUT no rooms at Slaidburn, so we've gone for INgleton Yha instead, have two possible routes 79 or 73 miles, but the 73 may be more hilly, so see how we feel. The next stop was to be Dufton, but again no two bed rooms, so found another place called The Rebels Hide - this was from CTCs 'Cyclists Welcome' which has been invaluable so far! So that is 9 nights booked :)

Lots of bookings
Last week finished the routes all the way to John O'Groats!
Then on friday booked the train tickets to Penzance, could get cycle reservations on the sunday due to 'possible' engineering works, so we go on monday 6th.
Monday eve booked YHA Lands End, and then we though we'd booked Treyarnon Bay, but due to some weirdness in the yha website we booked Lands End for two nights! After discussions with yha lends end, it turns out Treyarnon is fully booked (fb) for that night, so we are going to YHA Golant instead.
Tuesday night tried to book Okehampton and Cheddar YHA, but both fb! so have used CTCs 'Cyclists welcome' website to find suitable B&Bs - have plumped for Meadowlea Guest house in Okehampton and Constantine in Cheddar. Finally YHA welsh bicknor had a room available! Tried to book YHA Bridges - but they're not online, so rang and left a message.
Weds - checked Chester YHA and it's closed! so will need to source a B&B for that night too, it may work in our favour as we could re-arrange the route so that Day 7 (Chester to Slaiburn) isn't such a horror!

First Post
For 3 weeks in June we will be cycling the length of Great Britain - from Lands End to John O Groats. This blog will hopefully record our preparations and the adventure itself!
